The Center for Pediatric Imaging at Hasbro Children's Hospital and Lifespan in Providence, RI houses many exam units divided with curtains. A much needed diversion for young patients, i.e. ceiling tiles were designed and installed in 2008. Building on the existing theme of sea life throughout the hospital, PAW worked to maintain the continuity. Below are a few concept-to-completed tiles. |

Demonstrating the effectiveness and productivity of the combined skills of this newly organized team of artists is the first goal of Public Art Works. Working in a collaborative manner to create a site-specific project for a special targeted audience, specifically the patients and their families of Hasbro Children’s hospital in this case.
Additionally, we intend to create a stimulating and friendly environment for children and their families while visiting a hospital facility. Original and uniquely crafted artwork provides a blend of visual stimulus, distraction and inspiration to help support a child and family through the examination and procedure process.
